An original way to remember you, dear Dave. We know. But that’s how we feel.

You led a life of service that inspired so many people in Texas and abroad. And you certainly inspired us.

You have been and always will be an example to follow. That’s why every time we face a dilemma, instead of getting discouraged and angry, we ask ourselves, “What would Dave do?”.

And you calm us, enlighten us, and continue to shower us with love and wisdom from wherever you are.

Defending human rights is increasingly difficult, the world is hostile to the least among us, but we will not give up. Ever.
And every time we reach a goal, even a small one, we will know for sure that it was also thanks to you.

Your legacy, activism, and spirit of power will continue to live on and inspire others to continue the struggle for social justice.

We will be eternally grateful to you and for you.
